This groundbreaking research introduces the Advanced Falling Object Detection System (AFODS), a novel safety framework utilizing AI and multi-modal sensor fusion to proactively predict and mitigate severe pedestrian accidents.
We are honored that Dr. Barua’s co-author is the distinguished Professor Masahito Hitosugi, M.D., Ph.D., a globally recognized Forensic Pathologist and Professor of Legal Medicine at Shiga University of Medical Science, Japan. Prof. Hitosugi’s expertise in injury biomechanics and trauma analysis ensures the research is grounded in the critical medical outcomes of vehicle safety .
